Resurrection

Why do people put stuff they are trying to forget about but not throw away into their knicker drawer? I was rooting around the other day looking for something and came across my old Nokia 3210 phone. A fairly similar looking model to the one about to be re-released. Then spying a small box I took a look inside and found a couple of old watches one of which I still quite like.

Both the phone and a watch have now been 'resurrected.' The phone for about £5 and the watch for £10. God knows I don't need either but it was quite a satisfying experience getting them both looking smart and working again.

  1. What did it take to get the Nokia functional again - just a new SIM card? Did the Nokia pre date your move to France? We just found and discraded a bottle of maple syrup from the US which we've clearly paid movers to move from the US, to France, to the UK!

    1. It was my 'English phone' that I used when visiting England from France. I'm not sure when I bought it but suspect it was during an England visit. It must be at least 10 years old. Some of the contacts were a bit corroded which I cleaned up with alcohol and I bought a new charger because I couldn't find the original. The battery charged very quickly but I'm not sure how long it will last. I might have to get a new one from Amazon. All strangely satisfying but with no data all a bit retro.
      Love the maple syrup story.
