Memories
What a weird week.
First of all Aretha Franklin dies, the only international artist who we (The Tropical Boot Company) supported at Reading University in the late sixties. Apart from liking her music I have always had a sneaking regard for her and in particular her appearance in the film The Blues Brothers.
Then out of the blue the lead guitarist of the aforementioned band, who I have not spoken to for 50 years, phoned to say hello.
Added to all that I got an email from my first ex wife.
Bloody hell a real trip down memory lane. And mostly good!

And the best part of all is that you can remember all of these people! It does indeed sound like a strange week. I'd buy a lottery ticket if I was you...whilst on you're on a roll.
ReplyDeleteGood idea. Just bought a ticket.
DeleteAlex didn't say that he was one of the 2 singers, the band was very similar to the band in the Blues Brothers (with him as John Belushi), and that's him with the jaunty scarf around the neck, a fashion he really hates!! I didn't recognise him either!
ReplyDeleteI'm VERY impressed by his singing credentials! Less so with the scarf. It's ever so slightly camp 1970s! Trust me, I'm an expert and had the platform shoes to prove it. I'm 6-4 but with those bloody shoes I must haven been 6-7 or so. What a sight!
