Much like with La La Land, I left a showing of the allegorical Parasite thinking is that the best they can offer?
It was an interesting film with some very dark humour and violence (at the end) but was that really worth the title of best film? I'm not sure. It doesn't say much for all the other films made.
Intersting to read your thoughts on this Alex. It's not calling out to me at all. I'm not sure it's my cup of tea. Did you see 1917? We loved it and were disappointed that it didn't win best picture.

DeleteIf you get a chance and haven't already seen it, try to catch The Goldfinch. We saw it last October and loved it and I just watched it again this week now it's been relased for home viewing. It didn't get very good reviews ( I can't figure out why) but then again I've begun to ignore reviews as they are usually the polar opposite of what I like!
